How to sell AI prompts and prompt packs in India
By ClipChaos · Last checked 13 October 2026
A list of prompts is easy to copy and hard to charge for. A prompt system that reliably produces a result, with examples and instructions, is a product. This guide covers the difference, and how to package, describe and price a prompt pack.
Sell a workflow, not a list
- Pick one job: writing product descriptions for a Shopify store, turning a lecture into revision notes, planning a week of reels.
- Give the prompts in the order someone would use them, with what to paste in at each step.
- Include two or three complete worked examples: the input, the prompt, and the real output.
- Say which tool and version you tested on, and the date. Prompts behave differently across tools and over time.
Package it
A PDF works for most packs. If buyers will copy and paste a lot, add a plain text or spreadsheet file and zip them together, so nothing is retyped from a PDF.
Be honest about what it cannot do
Do not promise income, followers or guaranteed results: listings that do are flagged for review. Say what the prompts are good at, where they need editing, and what the buyer must supply themselves.
Pricing
Small single-purpose packs commonly sell between ₹99 and ₹299. A complete workflow with examples, templates and a guide can go higher. A free mini-pack of three prompts is a good way to show your quality.

Common questions
- Will my prompts still work in six months?
- Tools change, so results drift. State the tool and the date you tested on. When a pack stops working, replace the product's file with a corrected one: everyone who bought it gets the new file the next time they download.
- Can I sell prompts written with the help of AI?
- Yes, if the pack is your own work and does what the listing says. What is not allowed is reselling someone else's paid pack.
- What format should a prompt pack be?
- A PDF with the prompts, instructions and worked examples. Add a text or spreadsheet file in a zip if buyers need to copy many prompts.
- What does ClipChaos charge?
- A flat 8% of each sale, payment gateway charges included, with no monthly fee. On a ₹499 sale the fee is ₹39.92.
