How to sell Notion templates in India

By ClipChaos · Last checked 13 October 2026

A Notion template is a system you built for yourself that someone else can duplicate in one click. Selling one is straightforward, with one wrinkle: the product is a link, not a file. This guide covers how to package it so delivery still works, and how to price and describe it.

Sell the outcome, not the database

Nobody wants "a Notion workspace with four linked databases". They want to stop losing track of client invoices, or to plan a month of content in one sitting. Lead with that, then show the template.

Package a link as a file

  • In Notion, open the template page, choose Share, then Publish, and turn on "Allow duplicate as template".
  • Create a short PDF: the duplicate link on page one, then a setup guide with screenshots.
  • Upload that PDF as your product file. The buyer downloads it, opens the link and duplicates the template into their own workspace.
  • Test the link in a private browser window before you publish. A link that asks the buyer to request access is the most common complaint.

Show it before they buy

  • Use a cover image that shows the template filled with realistic example data, not empty.
  • List what is inside: pages, views, formulas, and what the buyer needs (a free Notion account is enough for most templates).
  • Say plainly whether it works on the Notion mobile app.

Pricing

Single-purpose templates commonly sell between ₹99 and ₹499. A full system with several connected parts and a setup guide can go higher. A free starter version is a good way to let people try your style first.

Common questions

What file do I upload for a Notion template?
A PDF containing the duplicate link and a short setup guide. The buyer downloads the PDF and opens the link.
Do buyers need a paid Notion plan?
Usually not: duplicating a template works on Notion's free plan. If your template relies on a paid feature, say so in the listing.
Can I update the template after people have bought it?
Yes. Changes you make to your published Notion page do not reach copies buyers already duplicated, so tell buyers in the PDF how to get the latest version from the same link.
What does ClipChaos charge?
A flat 8% of each sale, payment gateway charges included, with no monthly fee. On a ₹499 sale the fee is ₹39.92.
